Tour de Fleece 2015 - Part 1

Bento and knitting....

Since the food in our canteen is not better this year than last year I'm still making bento, also last week I did only take one picture:

During the holidays I managed to knit a whole cardigan, but it is still missing the buttons. And I also started a to knit a ingenious but slightly insane pattern:  Fox Paws.

Of course I use my own handspun, maybe you remember this:

which became this yarn:

And something more to show... we did a swap on Ravelry; a advent calendar version of the Swap for Scraps: everyone had to pack 24 equal bags of 5 gr fiber which then were redistributed so that everyone ended up with 24 different bags. It was so much fun because I decided to try and spin and knit the fiber on the same day.

They became a very large and cozy shawl:

Christmas knitting...

I started with my knitting for christmas presents...
The first item is an Irida shawl (from the first PLY magazine, knitted from handspun yarn. It is from the last FatCatKnits Club and while I really love the yarn it is just not a color I would wear:

Also my towels which I wove in weaving class are off the loom (but not yet sewn), so time for planing a new project: a scarf with honey comb pattern. I will use a handspun yarn that I spun with samples from a phat fiber sample box and plyed with a silk thread. 

New spindles...

I tried supported spindles before, but somehow although I could produce a thread, it was not much fun. Then I took a workshop about supported spindling (and also spun a lot of long draw on my wheel) I kind of rediscovered my supported spindles. So much fun...

I was lucky to get 2 new spindles, made by "A spinners lair". Sadly he passed aways several years ago. I already had one spindle made by him and liked it very much. These are my new spindles, tibetian style supported spindles.

Wool combs...

I got small wool combs for christmas last year. I have not used them much, but I bought some milk sheep fiber from WoolShepherdess: from Greta and Heidi.
This weeking I started combing:

Currently spinning: Scraps from a Swap long ago... sorted them into light and dark scraps... the plan is to get different yarns to knit the brilliant but slightly insane pattern Fox Paws
